The Centre’s move to ban import of yellow peas for the next three months has lifted chana prices in Indore mandis with chana (kanta) on Tuesday rising to ₹3,625-50 a quintal, while chana (desi) ruled at ₹3,525 a quintal. Chana dal ruled firm with chana dal (average) at ₹4,500-₹4,600, chana dal (medium) at ₹4,700-₹4,800, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹4,900 a quintal. Amid weak arrivals and scattered domestic demand, dollar chana in Indore mandis quoted at ₹4,500-₹5,000. Amid improved export demand in container also, dollar chana ruled higher with dollar chana (42/44 count) fetching ₹6,000-₹6,050 a quintal, and dollar chana (44/46 count) quoting at ₹5.800-₹5,850 a quintal, while dollar chana (58/60 count) quoted at ₹4,800-₹4,850 a quintal.
