Cardamom prices fell by Rs 24.80 to Rs 801.40 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid sluggish demand at the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange cardamom for delivery in July fell by Rs 24.80 or three per cent to Rs 801.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 194 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in August eased by Rs 25.50 or 2.96 per cent at Rs 835 per kg, with a business turnover of 104 lots.
Cardamom prices for delivery in September moved down by Rs 22.50 or 2.54 per cent to Rs 861 per kg, with a business volume of 65 lots.
Analysts said fall in demand at existing high levels against fresh arrivals in the physical market mainly led to the fall in prices at futures trade.
