Cardamom prices declined by Rs 6.10 to Rs 1,108 per kg at the futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid a weak trend in the spot market following sluggish demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April declined by Rs 6.10 or 0.55 per cent to Rs 1,108 per kg with a business turnover of five lots. Similarly, May contract too shed Rs 5 or 0.44 per cent to Rs 1,131 per kg with an open interest of one lot.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market also put pressure on the cardamom futures prices.
