Cardamom prices rose Rs 10.40 to Rs 1,096 per kg at the futures trade today, largely supported by a strong demand in the spot market against restricted supply.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April surged by Rs 10.40 or 0.95 per cent to Rs 1,096 per kg with a business volume of 136 lots.
Similarly, May contract rose Rs 10.50 or 0.94 per cent to Rs 1,119 per kg with a business volume of 128 lots. Likewise, June contract rose Rs 9.60 or 0.86 per cent to Rs 1,116 per kg with a business turnover of 15 lots.
Market analysts said rise in cardamom futures prices was mostly influenced by strong domestic and export demand amid low stocks following restricted supplies.
