Cardamom prices fell further by 1.06 per cent to Rs 840 per kg in futures trade today amid profit-booking by speculators at prevailing levels.
Weak trend in spot markets following increased arrivals from producing region also influenced the prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August delivery declined by Rs 9 or 1.06 per cent to Rs 840 per kg, with a business turnover of 133 lots.
The spice for delivery in September eased by Rs 6.50 or 0.73 per cent to Rs 880 per kg with a trading volume of 424 lots.
Likewise, for delivery in October, prices moved down by Rs 6 or 0.65 per cent to Rs 915 per kg, with an open interest of 23 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators at existing prices, fall in spot markets demand also put pressure on cardamom futures prices.
