Pulses remained steady despite weak demand, except dollar chana (chickpea) which gained on improved buying and thin arrivals.

Dollar chana gained Rs 200 at Rs 7,500-7,800 a quintal. In the past few days, robust demand in physical and export markets has boosted dollar-chana prices. Low arrivals of 1,200 bags in local mandis pushed up dollar chana on Tuesday. Chana prices remained unchanged at Rs 3,000 a quintal despite low buying at the higher price. Chana (desi) ruled at Rs 2,550-2,560 a quintal. Chana dal remained stable with chana dal (bold) ruling at Rs 3,775-3,800 a quintal, chana dal (medium) at Rs 3,675-3,700 and chana dal (average) quoted at Rs 3,550-3,575.

Masoor, tur, urad and moong ruled firm despite subdued demand. Masoor (bold) remained steady at Rs 2,800-2,825 and masoor (medium) at Rs 2,525. Masoor dal ruled flat with masoor dal (bold) quoting at Rs 3,375-3,400, masoor dal (medium) at Rs 3,275-3,300 and masoor dal (average) at Rs 3,150-3,175 a quintal.

Tur remained firm with tur (Maharashtra) ruling at Rs 3,000-3,050 and tur (Nimari) at Rs 2,300-2,500. It's dal also ruled stable with tur (marka) ruling at Rs 5,900, tur dal (full) at Rs 5,250-5,300 and tur dal ( sawa no.) at Rs 4,300-4,350. Moong (bold) ruled at Rs 4,200-4,300 and moong (medium) at Rs 3,600-3,800. Moong (marka) quoted at Rs 5,700-5,800, moong dal (bold) at Rs 5,500-5,600 and moong dal (average) at Rs 5,200-5,300 a quintal.

Urad and its dal, too, remained steady despite subdued demand. Urad (bold) ruled at Rs 4,000-4,100 and urad (medium) at Rs 3,600-3,800. Urad (mongar) ruled firm at Rs 6,500-6,700, urad dal (bold) at Rs 5,500-5,600 and urad dal (average) at Rs 4,600-4,700 a quintal.
