Lower sugar release quota of 16.50 lakh tonnes for July , against 21 lakh in June, lifted prices sharply at Vashi and mill level on Monday. Higher mill tender rates lifted Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot and naka rates by ₹100-150 and at Vashi by₹180-200. The BSMA spot rates were: S-grade ₹3,240-3,465 and M-grade ₹3,270-3,591. Naka delivery rates were: S-grade ₹3,220-3,320 and M-grade ₹3,320 – 3,420 .
