Copper futures prices fell by 0.43 per cent today after speculators off-loaded their positions driven by weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in June shed Rs 1.85 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 427.70 a kg, with a business volume of 2,892 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in May also eased by Rs 1.80 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 420.10 a kg, with a turnover of 17,397 lots.
Market analysts said weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange along with subdued domestic demand at spot markets mainly kept pressure on prices at futures trade here.
