Cotton prices remained steady to strong on the back of shortage of supply and quality issue. Kapas or raw cotton was on the upside on ginners’ demand. Traders said that arrivals declined as farmers were holding back their stock expecting better price for their commodity. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton was up ₹100 to ₹35,000-700 per candy of 356 kg. Kapas gained ₹10 to ₹930-950 for a maund of 20 kg and gin delivery kapas stood at ₹950-970. Cottonseed was unchanged at ₹440-445.
