Cotton prices moved down on the back of poor demand from domestic mills. Kapas or raw cotton was also traded down on weak ginning demand. Traders said that only domestic mills as buying in line with requirements and low quantity. Moreover, export demand was almost nil which mainly pulled down the price. Gujarat Sankar-6 cotton declined by ₹100 to ₹34,000-34,500 per candy of 356 kg. About 4,000 bales of 170 kg each arrived in Gujarat and 9,000 bales arrived in India. Kapas was down by ₹5-7 to ₹900-920 for a maund of 20 kg and gin delivery kapas was ₹925-930. Cottonseed was unchanged at ₹435-440.
