Crude oil futures rose 0.8 per cent to Rs 3,422 per barrel today as speculators raised their bets amid a firm trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for December delivery was trading higher by Rs 27 or 0.8 per cent at Rs 3,422 per barrel in 63 lots. Similarly, crude oil for delivery in November was trading higher by Rs 26 or 0.77 per cent at Rs 3,398 per barrel in a business turnover of 3,852 lots.
Analysts said rise in crude oil futures was largely attributed to raising of bets by participants in tandem with a firm trend in global market.
Meanwhile, US benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude prices surged 0.5 per cent to $52.10 a barrel and Brent crude climbed 0.24 per cent to $57.89 a barrel.
