Pulses continued to rule flat on sluggish demand, while downtrend continued in masur and tur.
In the past two days, masur and tur have declined by Rs 75 and Rs 50 respectively. On Tuesday, masur on the spot was quoted at Rs 3,375-3,400 a quintal with selling pressure of large carryover stock.
Masur dal also witnessed a corresponding decline of Rs 50 with prices of masur dal (bold) in the spot quoting at Rs 4,100-4,150.
Similarly tur declined by Rs 50 with continuing decline in its demand. In the spot, tur quoted at Rs 4,200 a quintal, while tur dal ruled firm with prices of tur dal (marka) quoting at Rs 6,800-7,000 a quintal, tur dal (full) quoted at Rs 6,300-6,400 a quintal, while tur dal (sawa no.) quoted Rs 5,750-5,800 a quintal.
New tur has already started arriving in local mandis from Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka. Among other pulse seeds, chana prices fluctuated on demand-supply mismatch.
Chana prices fell to Rs 2,560 a quintal. Chana dal, however, ruled firm with prices of chana dal (bold) quoting at Rs 3,300-3,325, chana dal (medium) at Rs 3,200-3,225, while chana dal average quoted at Rs 3,075-3,100 a quintal.
Moong quoted at Rs 5,000-5,100, while moong mongar quoted at Rs 6,600-6,700, moong dal (bold) quoted at Rs 6,200 a quintal while moong dal (chilka) quoted at Rs 5,700-Rs 5,750 a quintal. Similarly urad remained steady at Rs 4,200-4,300 a quintal, while urad mongar quoted at Rs 7,000- 7,300.
