Edible oils market ruled firm on Wednesday on duty hike rumours supported by extended gain in futures and higher festival demand. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, soyabean refined oil rose by ₹2 per 10 kg.
Local refineries sold 1,600 tonnes of palmolein at ₹680-683 and 1,100 tonnes of soyabean refined oil at ₹740-742. About 40-50 tonnes of palmolein were bought by stockists. At Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia tin was up at ₹1,320 (₹1,330) and loose (10 kg) was flat at ₹830.
