Rubber growers can contact Rubber Board Call Centre to know about the precautions to be taken in the harvesting of rubber during rainy season. R Rajagopal, Scientist, Rubber Research Institute of India, will answer the queries on June 12 from 10 am to 1 pm. The call centre number is 0481-2576622.
Usually, tapping is interrupted for 4-5 months in a year because of rain. If trees were rain guarded in time, 35-40 tapping days would be got additionally. But some precautions are to be taken while tapping during rainy season.
Information about the services of the Board and also technical advice regarding cultivation, production, processing, etc can be regularly sought from the call centre functioning at its Head Office. The service is available from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm on all working days.
