Irked by the low amount quoted by traders, turmeric farmers at Erode refused to sell their produce on Monday. At the Regulated Marketing Committee, the farmers brought 229 bags and the traders quoted a lower amountbased on the variety and quality. But the farmers, saying the price is not feasible for them, refused to sell all the 229 bags. All the four turmeric markets received only 1,400 bags. Only 400 bags of Mysore variety new turmeric arrived for sale.
