D Hegde, former Vice-Chairman of Tea Board, passed away on Tuesday (June 23) in a Mangaluru hospital after a brief illness. He was 66.
He was a resident at Chamraj Estate in The Nilgiris as he was Director of The United Nilgiri Tea Estates Co Ltd which owns Chamraj.
He was President of The United Planters’ Association of Southern India (UPASI) during 2011-12.
Hegde was a well-known serving executive of the plantation industry at the time of his demise.
