Renewed buying support at lower rate has lifted chana prices in Indore mandis in the past two days by ₹100 with chana (kanta) being quoted at ₹5,100-5,150 a quintal, while chana (desi) ruled at ₹5,000. Chana dal (average) went for ₹6,400-6,500, chana dal (medium) at ₹6,600-6,700, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹6,800-6,900 a quintal respectively. Dollar chana ruled steady at ₹12,500 a quintal on slack and subdued physical demand. In container, dollar chana (42/44 count) fetched ₹12,600-13,000 a quintal; 44/46 count ruled at ₹12,600-900, while dollar chana (58/60 count) ruled at ₹12,500-700 respectively. According to Ashish Pandya, a local trader, dollar chana prices in Indore mandis continue to remain unstable on sharp decline in physical demand. Arrival of dollar chana in mandis across Madhya Pradesh today was recorded at 2,000 bags against 1,200 bags in Indore mandis alone.
