Gold continued to glitter with prices rising by another 0.36 per cent to Rs 24,142 per 10 grams in futures trade today after the precious metal climbed to a record in the US market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold for delivery in October shot up by Rs 87 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 24,142 per 10 grams, with a turnover of 635 lots. It had closed 1.04 per cent higher at Rs 24,055 per 10 grams after hitting a record of Rs 24,245 per 10 grams in yesterday’s trade.

Market analysts said a firming trend in precious metals at New York last evening supported by worries about the spreading euro zone debt crisis and slowing global growth, mainly influenced gold prices at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, gold rallied by 1.9 per cent to a record $1,675.90 an ounce in New York yesterday.
