Higher arrival of castorseed put pressure on spot prices of castorseed on Wednesday. Castorseed futures were mixed. The overall trend was seen negative, though. Arrival has increased from 1 lakh bags to 1.40 lakh bags over the last one week in Gujarat. Castor prices dropped ₹5 to ₹685-695 for a maund of 20 kg. About 4,500-4,600 bags arrived in Saurashtra and prices declined by ₹5 to ₹680-690. Castor oil was unchanged at ₹710/10 kg. On the NCDEX, castorseed May contract gained ₹2 at ₹3,662 a quintal with an open interest of 137,410 lots and the June series lost ₹10 at₹3,726 with an open interest of 64,990 lots. On the Rajkot Commodity Exchange (RCX), June castorseed contract was up ₹10 at ₹3,712 and RCX spot decreased ₹12.50 to ₹3,487.50.
