Jeera prices declined by Rs 68 to Rs 16,090 per quintal in futures trading on Thursday on profit-booking by speculators amid fresh arrivals in the physical markets.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July declined by Rs 68, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 16,090 per quintal, with an open interest of 798 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in May shed Rs 6, or 0.04 per cent, to Rs 15,152 per quintal, with an open interest of 18,381 lots.
Market analysts said apart from profit—booking by speculators, fresh arrivals kept the pressure on the jeera futures prices.
