Jeera prices fell by Rs 114 to Rs 13,670 per quintal at the futures trading today due to weak local as well as export demand against adequate stocks.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for delivery in June fell by Rs 114 or 0.83 per cent to Rs 13,670 per quintal with an open interest of 7,416 lots. Similarly, July contract declined by Rs 112 or 0.79 per cent to Rs 14,060 per quintal with a business volume of 21,549 lots.
Analysts said subdued local as well as export demand against fresh supply in the spot market mainly led to the fall in jeera futures prices.
