Mentha oil gained Rs 3.50 to Rs 885 per kg in futures trading today as traders enlarged their positions on the back of pick up in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August rose by Rs 3.50 or 0.40 per cent to Rs 885 per kg with a business turnover of 44 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June gained Rs 2.20 or 0.25 per cent to Rs 872.20 per kg in 283 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in mentha oil futures prices to fresh positions created by speculators on the back of pick up in domestic demand from pharmaceutical units.
