Mentha oil prices fell by 0.47 per cent to Rs 1,262.30 a kg in futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March declined by Rs 6 or 0.47 per cent to Rs 1,262.30 a kg, with a business volume of 248 lots.
Similarly, the oil prices for delivery in April eased by Rs 5.10 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 1,090.50 a kg, with an open interest of 111 lots.
Mentha oil future prices for delivery in May fell by Rs 3.90 or 0.40 per cent to Rs 957.20 a kg, with a business volume of five lots.
Traders attributed the fall to profit booking by speculators along with a weak trend at the spot markets on subdued demand.
