Mentha oil futures prices fell by Rs 12 to Rs 1,276 per kg today as speculators booked profits, driven by subdued spot demand.
Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing belts in Uttar Pradesh also put pressure on the mentha oil prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March fell by Rs 12, or 0.93 per cent, to Rs 1,276 per kg, with a business turnover of just one lot.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in April declined by Rs 5.10, or 0.47 per cent, to Rs 1,075.50 per kg, with a trade volume of just one lot.
Traders attributed the fall in mentha oil futures prices to profit booking by speculators amid subdued demand in the spot market, especially from pharmaceutical units.
