Mentha oil prices fell by 0.47 per cent to Rs 1,262.30 per kg at the futures trade today as traders indulged in profit-booking, driven by subdued demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March declined by Rs 6 or 0.47 per cent to Rs 1,262.30 per kg with a business volume of 248 lots.
Similarly, April contract eased by Rs 5.10 or 0.46 per cent to Rs 1,090.50 per kg with an open interest of 111 lots. Mentha oil for delivery in May fell by Rs 3.90 or 0.4 per cent to Rs 957.20 per kg with a business volume of five lots.
Traders attributed the fall in mentha oil prices to profit-booking by speculators along with a weak trend at the spot market on subdued demand.
