Mixed trend in pepper prices

Pepper futures contracts on Tuesday slipped on anticipation of imports from Vietnam and rise in arrivals of the indigenous crop in the coming days, market sources told BusinessLine.

Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹65,900 (ungarbled) and ₹68,900 (garbled) a quintal .On the terminal market, about 27 tonnes from the southern districts of Kerala and the high ranges arrived, and these were traded between ₹660-675 a kg .

February and March contracts on IPSTA dropped ₹1,000 a quintal each to close at ₹65,000 and ₹63,000 . Indian export prices were at $10,450 a tonne c&f for Europe, as well as $10,700 a tonne c&f for the US.
