Spot rubber managed to end in green on Wednesday. RSS-4 improved to ₹121.50 (121) a kg, according to traders and the Rubber Board. The trend continued to remain mixed as RSS-5 and Latex finished flat amidst scattered transactions. A moderate recovery in domestic futures failed to cheer the local trading houses since most of them were suffering from a sharp decline in volumes.
The June futures firmed up to ₹121 (119.88) and July futures to ₹126.66 (125.17) per kg on the Indian Commodity Exchange (ICEX). The June contracts were up by 0.93 per cent with a volume of 1 lot and total trade value of ₹1.21 lakh.
RSS-3 (spot) improved to ₹115.11 (113.29) per kg at Bangkok. Its June futures firmed up to ₹98.46 (96.56) and July to ₹101.70 (100.97) on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM). SMR 20 weakened to ₹88.64 (89.39), while Latex 60% improved to ₹86.66 (85.87) at Kuala Lumpur.
Spot rubber rates (₹/kg): RSS-4: 121.50 (121); RSS-5: 117.50 (117.50); ISNR 20: 107.50 (107) and Latex (60% drc): 86.50 (86.50).
