Fear of Cyclone Vayu and its effect kept activities in the commodity market limited on Wednesday. Sugar prices at Vashi gained by ₹5-10 while at naka and mill level remained steady on routine demand-supply. On Tuesday, 19-20 mills sold 44,000-45,000 bags at ₹3,100-3,150 a quintal of S-grade and ₹3,130-3,200 of M-grade. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association spot rates: S-grade ₹3,222-3,262 and M-grade ₹3,252-3,382. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,200-3,230 and M-grade ₹3,230-3,320.
