Sugar prices at Vashi rule mix with thin volatility on Monday on back of routine demand- supply. Prices for S-grade decline by ₹2-₹7 while increase by ₹8- ₹10 for M-grade. Futures prices on NCDEX extended last week’s gain on positive outlook coming months for the commodity. Prices were up by ₹20-25 till evening. Last week futures prices went up by over ₹130. Arrivals at Vashi market were 61- 62 truck loads while local dispatches were at 61-62 truck loads. On Saturday 13-14 mills offered tenders and sold about 44,000-45,000 bags at ₹3,120– 3170 for S-grade and ₹3,170–3250 for M-grade.
On NCDEX futures prices for March-16 jumped to ₹3,202 and May-16 contracts increase to ₹3,316 .
On Bombay Sugar Merchants Association's spot rates were: S-grade was ₹3,205-3,300 and M-grade was ₹3,290-3,392. Naka delivery rates were: S-grade ₹3,200–3,270 and M-grade ₹3,270–3,335.
