Edible oils market witnessed dull activities with cautious mood on Tuesday tracking weak futures amid slack physical demand. Reports of monsoon rains in producing areas and slower pick-up in sowing kept the morale weak, said a broker.

On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, groundnut and rapeseed oil gained ₹5 each, cotton oil ₹2 and palmolein ₹1 for 10 kg. Soyabean refined oil lost ₹1. Sunflower oil ruled unchanged.

Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd, Chennai, quoted ₹620/10 kg for July delivery of Malaysian super palmolein. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹577 for August, super palmolein ₹596 and soyabean refined oil ₹648 for July 15-30. Ruchi’s rates were palmolein ₹572, soyabean refined oil ₹640-643, sunflower refined oil ₹643 . Allana was quoting palmolein at ₹574-577 for August, soyabean refined oil ₹643 for August and sunflower refined oil ₹645 for August. Resellers were offering palmolein at ₹573 for Mumbai and ₹570 for JNPT.

In Saurashtra, groundnut telia tin was up ₹20 to ₹1,230 and loose (10 kg) ₹10 to ₹785.

BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 785 (780), soya refined oil 644 (645), sunflower exp. ref. 590 (590), sunflower ref. 642 (642), rapeseed ref. oil 710 (705), rapeseed expeller ref. 680 (675) cottonseed ref. oil 664 (662) and palmolein 571 (570).
