Rise in buying support at lower rate and corresponding rise in soya oil have lifted mustard oil prices in mandis across Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan in the past two days. However, compared with last week, mustard oil is still ruling lower. In Rajasthan mandis also, mustard oil traded low on weak buying with its prices both in Kota and Ganga Nagar on Thursday were being quoted at ₹610 each (down ₹5 from last week). Similarly, in Jaipur it declined to ₹625 on Thursday (down ₹5 from last week) on weak demand and buying support. In Gujarat, it declined by ₹10 to ₹605.

Plant deliveries of mustard oil for Jaipur line on Thursday ruled at ₹3,440-45 a quintal (₹10 down from last week) on scattered demand. Notwithstanding decline in arrival, mustard prices in the physical market in the past one week have declined by ₹200 with prices on Thursday being quoted at ₹4,200-4,300 a quintal. Raida also declined by ₹100 to ₹2,800-2,900 a quintal.

Arrival of mustard seeds in the country on Thursday was recorded at 2 lakh bags (2.30 lakh bags last week) with Rajasthan recording an arrival of 1.10 lakh bags, followed by Punjab/Haryana - 23,000 bags, Gujarat - 22,000 bags, Uttar Pradesh - 20,000 bags , Madhya Pradesh - 15,000, while 10,000 bags were offloaded elsewhere in the country.
