No takers for coconut oil

Copra and coconut oil prices decreased on Wednesday. “There is no buyer for coconut oil even after it lost ₹3 a kg in Erode district. Coconut oil prices ruled at ₹2,080-2,150 for 15-kg loose pack on Tuesday and on Wednesday, sellers quoted ₹2,070-2,130,” said RM Palanisamy, a coconut oil dealer.

He said the price of the copra is also declining. It was sold at ₹10,600 a quintal three days ago, but was at ₹9,600-9,900 on Wednesday. Similarly, the edible copra went for ₹10,600-800 a quintal in the open market.
