Sugar prices continued to be bearish today, as S-grade broke the ₹2,200 level and M-grade broke the ₹2300 level in spot on the back of routine demand amid producers selling old stocks at lower rates. At Vashi market, spot prices declined ₹10-25, tracking a drop of ₹10-20 at the mill level. Naka rates were down ₹10-15 on eased bulk demand. Arrivals at Vashi remained stable at 59-60 truck loads and local dispatches were also at same level. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹2,192-2,410 and M-grade ₹2,300-2,602. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,160-2,260 and M-grade ₹2,280-2,430.
