The pepper markets were steady on limited activities as supply continued to stay thin, market sources told BusinessLine . High range pepper traded at ₹695 and pepper from the plains was at ₹580 a kg. Spot prices ruled steady at ₹57,400 (ungarbled) and ₹60,400 (garbled) a quintal. April, May and June contracts on the IPSTA were at ₹61,000, ₹58,000 and ₹57,000 a quintal respectively.
