Spot pepper prices declined on Monday on limited activities and May and June contracts on both the national and regional exchanges remained steady. Though sellers were ready to offer at ₹76,700 a quintal on the NMCE for June, there were no buyers. On the IPSTA platform, May contracts remained unchanged at ₹70,292 while June was up by ₹1,000 to ₹70,292. Spot prices were notionally down by ₹500 to ₹71,500 (ungarbled) and ₹73,500 (garbled) a quintal. Export prices were at $12,700 a tonne c&f for Europe and $12,950 a tonne c&f for the US.
