Spot pepper prices ruled steady on Tuesday as demand matched supply on Tuesday. No trading activities took place on the national and regional exchange platforms. On the spot, 37 tonnes of pepper arrived and of this, 35 tonnes were traded at ₹675, ₹680 and ₹690 a kg. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹66,600 (ungarbled) and ₹68,600 (garbled). Export prices were at $11,900 a tonne (c&f) for Europe and $12,150 (c&f) for the US despite decline in the prices due to strengthening of the rupee against the dollar.
