Spot pepper prices remained steady on Wednesday on limited activities. Selected buyers for high bulk density black bold pepper have bought Rajkumari pepper at ₹680 a kg and high range normal pepper at ₹675, market sources told Business Line . On the terminal market, eight tonnes were traded. Spot prices remained unchanged at ₹66,000 (ungarbled) and ₹69,000 (garbled) a quintal. Semi-processed pepper was quoted at ₹ 670/kg, while alleged tainted pepper was being offered at ₹675. January, February and March futures on the IPSTA moved up by ₹1,000 each to ₹65,500, ₹58,000 and ₹55,500 a quintal respectively. Export prices were at $10,500 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,750 for the US.
