Amid weak arrivals and strong buying support from millers, a majority of pulse seeds and pulses have been witnessing an uptrend for the past few days in Indore mandis . Due to frequent closure of mandis on account of holidays in the past few days, arrival has declined, leading to sharp rise in prices.
With demand outstripping arrival, masur prices in the past one week have gone up by ₹400 with masur (bold) rising to ₹5,400-25 a quintal, while masur (Madhya Pradesh) also rose to ₹5,100 (up ₹400 from last week).
Given the report of damage to the crop, fears of decline in crop output and higher imports, masur will continue to rally in the coming days, said Rahul Vora, a local pulse trade. Masur dal (average) was at ₹6,300-25, masur dal (medium) at ₹6,500, while masur dal (bold) ruled at ₹6,600-50.
Urad (bold) rose to ₹6,400-6,500 (up ₹300 from last week), while urad (medium) ruled at ₹5,700-6,000. Urad dal (medium) traded at ₹7,200-7,400, urad dal (bold) ₹7,500-7,600, while urad mongar ruled at ₹8,000-8,400.
Tur (Maharashtra) rose to ₹6,200-50, while tur (Madhya Pradesh) ruled at ₹5,600-5,700.
