Sugar prices at Vashi declined by ₹10-15 a quintal on Monday as freight rates came down to a normal level amid slack demand. Naka rates eased by same margin on selling pressure. Transportation changes due to last moment lifting before Diwali shot up by ₹25-30 recently has came down normal level, pushing spot-naka rates lower. Arrivals at Vashi market were 60 truck loads and local dispatches were at 60 truck loads. On Saturday volume in resells DO took place at running rates ₹3,510-3,570 for S-grade and ₹3,610-3,670 for M-grade. On Bombay Sugar Merchants Association's spot rates were: (in ₹) S-grade 3,660- 3,730 (3,676 – 3,760) and M-grade 3,742 – 3,922 (3,756 – 3,925). Naka delivery rates were: (in ₹) S-grade 3,600 – 3,670 ( 3,611 – 3,691) and M-grade 3,700 – 3,780 ( 3,671 – 3,786).
