Sluggish demand and weak buying support dragged masoor dal prices for the second consecutive day on Friday. Continuing with its declining trend, masoor (bold) in local mandis slipped to Rs 3,450 a quintal, while masoor (medium) ruled at Rs 3,250.

On the back of weak buying support and rise in arrivals, massor prices have declined by Rs 150 since Thursday.

Weak buying support to masoor also dragged its dal with masoor dal (average) declining to Rs 4,000-4,025 a quintal (Rs 4,075-4,100), while masoor dal (medium) ruled at Rs 4,100-4,125 (Rs 4,150-75) and masoor dal (bold) declined to Rs 4,200-4,225 a quintal (Rs 4,250-75).

Lack of buying support dragged tur with tur (Mahashtra) being quoted at Rs 3,750 in local mandis, while tur (Nimari) ruled at Rs 3,000-3,100. Tur dal has also declined in the past two days on weak buying support and sluggish demand with tur dal (full) ruling at Rs 5,500-5,600, tur dal (sawa no.) at Rs 4,900-5,000, while tur marka ruled at Rs 6,300 a quintal.

Downtrend also witnessed in chana and its dal on weak demand with chana (kanta) on Friday declinig to Rs 4,250-4,300 (Rs 4,325-50), while chana (desi) ruled at Rs 4,175.

Similarly chana dal also declined on weak demand and decline in spot chana with chana dal (average) being quoted at Rs 5,100-5,125 (Rs 5,200-5,225), chana dal (medium) ruled at Rs 5,200-5,225 (Rs 5,300-5,325, while chana dal (bold) declined to Rs 5,400-5,420 a quintal (Rs 5,500-5,525).
