The prices of small cardamom were steady as demand matched supplies at auctions held in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. At today’s auction in Bodinayakannur by the Cardamom Planters Association (CPA), of the total arrival of 16 tonnes around 14 tonnes were traded. Prices hit a high of ₹992 a kg. The auction average moved up to ₹885.10 a kg from last week’s ₹879.35. Exporters were not active and they bought an estimated 50 tonnes of cardamom last week. The individual auction average price ranged between ₹885 and ₹929 a kg last week. Total arrivals during the current season, as of October 21, were 6,430 tonnes and sales touched 6,277 tonnes. The individual auction average of the season was ₹1,028.82 a kg. Prices in ₹/kg : 8mm green bold 1,200; 7-8 mm: 1,050; 6-7 mm 900-940. Good bulk was traded at ₹950/kg.
