Spot pepper prices remained unchanged on Monday on limited activities. However, active contracts on the IPSTA fell sharply on emergence of sellers at flooring levels, IPSTA sources said. On the spot, 18 tonneswere traded today. Three tonnes of new pepper was also traded at ₹625/kg. High Range pepper was traded at ₹660-665. Spot prices remained steady at ₹65,400 (ungarbled) and ₹68,400 (garbled) a quintal. December, January and February contracts dropped by ₹1,000 each a quintal to ₹69,500, ₹62,000 and ₹55,500 respectively. Export prices were at $10,500 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,750 for the US.
