Pepper markets witnessed a mixed trend with the spot prices falling, while the nearby futures contracts moving up. End-users have started to cover pushing the demand up, trade sources told BusinessLine .
On the terminal market, 15 tonnes were traded at prices ranging between ₹650 and ₹665 a kg. Spot prices fell further by ₹200 a quintal to t ₹65,800 (ungarbled) and ₹68,800 (garbled) a quintal.
November contract remained unchanged at ₹69,000 a quintal, while December and January moved up by ₹1,000 each to ₹65,000 and ₹58,000. Export prices were at $10,675 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,925 for the US. Meanwhile, prices quoted for Vietnam 570 GL Asta cleaned with maximum two per cent light berries , 0.2 per cent foreign material and 12 per cent moisture reportedly stood at $7,100 a tonne (FOB) HCMC and 500 GL Asta cleaned at $6,950 FOB HCMC.
