Pepper markets on Monday ruled steady on matching demand and supply. On the terminal market, 18 tonnes , mostly from the High Ranges, were traded at ₹695 a kg.
Meanwhile, exporters having multi-origin operations were ready to buy Pulpally-Battery (Wayanad) pepper with 40 per cent bulk berries at ₹695. Spot pepper remained unchanged at ₹68,100 (ungarbled) and ₹71,100 (garbled) a quintal.
May, June and July contracts on the IPSTA remained steady at ₹70,000, ₹69,000 and ₹68,000 a quintal. Export prices were at $10,900 a tonne c&f for Europe and $11,150 for the US.
