Spot pepper prices moved up on tight availability amid good demand. Inter-State dealers were also actively covering and they are reported to have bought high range pepper at ₹655 a kg. Pulpally and Bathery (Wayanad) pepper was at ₹650 while Rajkumari (Idukki) pepper was quoted at ₹660. Spot prices were up by ₹200 a quintal to ₹63,800 (ungarbled) and ₹66,800 (garbled). On the terminal market, 14 tonnes were traded . October, November and December futures on the IPSTA platform remained unchanged at ₹67,500, ₹66,000 and ₹66,000 a quintal respectively. Export prices moved up to $10,650 a tonne c&f for Europe and $10,900 for the US.
