The price of the spot turmeric was decreased on Thursday said Krishnamurthy a trader. According to Regulated Marketing Committee officials that during this year within 11 months they sold 95 tonnes of turmeric in their market at Erode and this is fifty per cent of their target. They are hopeful of selling about 45 to 50 tonnes within a month’s timer (before December end).
Regarding the price of the turmeric, the finger turmeric was decreased by ₹450 a quintal at the Regulated Marketing Committee and ₹400 a quintal at the Erode Cooperative Marketing Society. The price of the root variety was decreased by ₹100 a quintal in all the markets. On average the sale was also decreased to fifty per cent as against 70 per cent sold in the previous day sale.
