Sugar prices ruled steady after losing over ₹200 a quintal this month on higher selling by producers. Activities at mill level also improved as stockists came forward with fresh bulk orders.
Prices at Vashi, naka trade and tender rates remained stable. Arrivals to the Vashi market were at 59-60 truck loads and local dispatches were at the same level. Freight rates were steady.
The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,012-3,130 and M-grade ₹3,132-3,352. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹2,970-3,070 and M-grade ₹3,050-3,200.
