Lower crop output, acute dip in arrival and strong buying in chana from millers and stockists have lifted chana prices in local mandis in the past one week by ₹350 with chana (kanta) rising to ₹6,100 a quintal, while chana (desi) rose to ₹6,000, Rise in chana lifted its dal with chana dal (average) at ₹7,150-7,250, chana dal (medium) at ₹7,300- 7,400, while chana dal (bold) ruled at ₹7,500-7,700 a quintal. Dollar chana ruled stable at ₹8,800-9,200 a quintal on subdued demand and buying. In container, dollar chana ruled firm on improved export demand with the 44/46 count being quoted at ₹10,200; 58/60 count at ₹9,150, while dollar chana (60/62 count) ruled at ₹9,050 a quintal.
