The buyers evinced a keen interest in new turmeric at the markets in Erode. On Monday, 2,500 bags — including 800 bags of new turmeric — arrived for sale. The traders purchased all the 800 bags and then quoted decreased price for the old crop. said RKV Ravishankar President, Erode Turmeric Merchants Association.
