Bearish trend continued in sugar market on continuous selling by mills amid need-based demand. At the Vashi wholesale market, spot prices were down ₹10-20 a quintal. Mill tender rates declined by ₹10. Naka rates were steady. With routine arrivals-dispatches and ample inventories, stockists stayed away from bulk buys. Arrivals to Vashi were steady at 59-60 truck loads and local dispatches were at 56-57 loads. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates: S-grade ₹3,300-3,412 and M-grade ₹3,390-3,652. Naka delivery rates: S-grade ₹3,350-3,450 and M-grade ₹3,400-3,600.
